Our local club, Black Hawk Pistol Club, held their first match of the season on Sunday 4/24/16. https://www.blackhawkpistol.org/
Weather cooperated on Sunday and we ended up with a decent day to shoot. With all the rain we had the previous week I was concerned the range would be too muddy for a match. We had to limit our stages to bay's 1 and 2 and Cedar Valley Pistol Club due to poor range conditions in bays 3,4, and 5.
My bro and I went to Brownell's range outside of Searsboro last weekend 4/16 to try out a variety of firearm suppressors at the ASA Iowa Suppressor Rally at Big Springs Range.
There were three ranges in use.
Thanks to ASA, the several suppressor vendors and especially Brownells for their efforts and investment in making this event an outstanding success. It was a "roaring success", but it was amazingly quiet and pleasant considering the
I spent last Saturday 3/19 at the Ankeny Izaak Walton League in Ankeny, IA renewing my International Defensive Pistol Association Safety Officer certification. Its been 5 years since I attended my last SO class.
I'm all set for another year or two.
A dozen or so volunteers sat in on the training last weekend. John Iniss was kind enough to instruct this motley crew.
Ottumwa Ikes had 6 SO's in training there and they will
I spent Sunday 3/6/16 doing a Low Light Pistol Course with Rick from SSV Concepts at the new Crossroads Shooting Sports indoor range in Johnston, IA.
It was a great class with a great bunch of guys and really helped me figure out my gear. I had a lot of fun shooting at the new CRSS Range and look forward to attending more training from them!
I shot my Smith & Wesson M&P 9 CORE with Deltapoint optic. Used a few different lights and shot Freedom Munitions 9mm ammo
We made it down to the Eastern Iowa Practical Shooters USPSA again for the match on 2/6/16. Sorry for the delay on get this match report up on the blog.
Another good day for an indoor match. Weather was a balmy 28 degrees outdoors at 7am, indoors a nice 60-65 degrees. It was the second competition match of the season for us and the second USPSA match.
The match was held at the indoor range at Midwest Shooting Supply in Hiawatha, IA. Just short of a one hour drive for us.
